Phoenix's Story:

Phoenix  (named by the person who found her) was found by a good Samaritan. She had been roaming a neighborhood for several days.  After she was able to get her to come for food she took her home for the night and to a vet the next morning.  Phoenix was covered with fleas and ticks, had scrapes and a sore paw.  She was extremely malnourished, dehydrated and in need of special care.  The Veterinarian said her life state was a 2!

I was called in as the STOLA representative and took her immediately to a foster home.  She was taken to another Veterinarian and given all vaccinations, a comprehensive health workup and tested positive for Heartworm disease.  She has completed and survived that process and is now doing well.

Her foster home has been working with her non-stop for health problems and behavioral issues, and they have been wonderful with her. They have fallen in love with this dear Saluki.

Once her medical treatment is complete and she receives a thumbs up from the vet (her next heartworm test is coming up soon), it is very likely that she will remain with this family as her forever humans. She is a very lucky girl.
