George and Lennie

Cooperative Placement with Greyhound Friends for Life

Status: Available, see below

Details:

Greyhound Friends for Life (greyhoundfriendsforlife.org) in Northern CA has two handsome, light brindle, ~2.5 year old brothers who are 72% Saluki, 28% greyhound.  These boys are looking for their forever homes in Northern California.  If you are interested in these boys, please contact Marni Meister at sighthoundstudio@gmail.com or call/text her at 510-520-6030 or Barbara Judson at bajudson@gmail.com or 510-506-6225.

George is a very affectionate dog and loves to snuggle with people.  He has learned the doggie door in his foster home and loves to lounge in the yard.  Both dogs were somehow traumatized before we got them.  They started out being very shy but were also fear aggressive when they met other dogs.  Lennie has gotten much better, but George will need some ongoing work for his leash reactivity.  He would love a home with a fully fenced yard in which to sunbathe.  George would be fine as an only dog, but could live with another non-dominant dog of a similar size with proper introductions.  He should not live with small dogs or cats.

Lennie is a sweet, goofy pup who loves hanging out with his people. He does well with dogs that are around his size and age. He walks nicely on a leash, is not reactive, and doesn't pull.  Lennie can sometimes be sensitive to pressure on his collar or leash, but with consistent training he has made great progress and no longer minds being handled by his collar or around his neck.  He has a ton of energy and would thrive in an active home. Lenny would do best in a home without children, small dogs, or cats, and with someone who can provide him with clear leadership, guidance, and structure to help him continue building his confidence and making good choices.  He is crate trained, rides well in the car, and is always ready for his next adventure. If you're looking for a fun, active companion who's eager to be part of your life, Lennie could be the perfect fit!

These boys would thrive each in their own environment, so they do NOT need to be placed together.
